Cargolux’s ground handling division, Luxcargo Handling, is set to modernize its operations through a partnership with IBS Software by implementing the iCargo CTO (Cargo Terminal Operations) system.

The upgrade will bring real-time data capture via barcode scanners and enable mobile-based workflows, accelerating the move toward paperless processes and digital operations. This modernization will also lay the groundwork for adopting emerging industry standards, such as IATA’s One Record.
IBS Software noted that the system will automate air cargo movement at Luxembourg, Cargolux’s primary European hub, which processes up to 1.2 million tonnes annually. Beyond cargo, IBS offers cloud-based solutions across the travel sector, including fleet and crew management, aircraft maintenance, and passenger services.
Sébastien Bauce, Executive Vice President at Luxcargo Handling, emphasized that the collaboration with IBS Software would leverage digitization to deliver consistent and efficient ground handling services. “Updating our legacy systems will give us better operational visibility and data insights, opening doors to more efficient ways of working,” he said.
Radhesh Menon, Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, added, “Working with Luxcargo Handling demonstrates how the iCargo and iCargo CTO solutions can address the diverse requirements of air cargo and ground handling operations. We look forward to seeing the new digital capabilities enhance their critical role in global goods distribution
