IBS to speed Luxcargo Handling’s Digital Journey
Cargolux’s ground handling division, Luxcargo Handling, is set to modernize operations through a partnership with IBS Software, implementing the iCargo CTO (Cargo Terminal Operations) system.
Real-Time Data Capture and Mobile Workflows
The upgrade will introduce real-time data capture via barcode scanners and enable mobile-based workflows, accelerating the shift toward paperless operations and digital workflows. This modernization also prepares Luxcargo for emerging industry standards such as IATA’s One Record.
Automation at Luxembourg Cargo Hub
IBS Software noted that the system will automate air cargo movement at Luxembourg, Cargolux’s primary European hub, which handles up to 1.2 million tonnes annually. Beyond cargo, IBS provides cloud-based solutions for fleet and crew management, aircraft maintenance, and passenger services.
Operational Efficiency and Visibility
Sébastien Bauce, Executive Vice President at Luxcargo Handling, emphasized that digitization will deliver consistent and efficient ground handling services. “Updating our legacy systems will give us better operational visibility and data insights, opening doors to more efficient ways of working,” he said.
Enhancing Global Goods Distribution
Radhesh Menon, Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, added, “Working with Luxcargo Handling demonstrates how iCargo and iCargo CTO solutions address diverse requirements of air cargo and ground handling operations. The new digital capabilities will enhance their critical role in global goods distribution
